Freshman Cougars finish 5–4, unbeaten in the district
A winning season, a perfect 3–0 run through the district, a 32–0 shutout of Cooper and a one-point thriller over Dixie Heights.

Conner's freshman Cougars wrapped up a winning 2026 season Thursday night at Ryle, finishing 5–4 overall and a perfect 3–0 against district opponents.
Out of the gate
The freshmen set the tone early, opening with three straight wins: 12–6 on the road at Simon Kenton, 38–18 at home over Walton-Verona, and 28–16 in their district opener at Scott.
Undefeated in the district
When district games were on the line, this group delivered every time. They beat Scott, shut out Cooper 32–0 at home on September 24, then held on to edge Dixie Heights 20–19 on October 7 in the most exciting finish of the season.
Built for what's next
The Cougars put up 178 points over nine games, scored 20 or more five times, and kept competing to the final whistle against a schedule that included an undefeated Highlands team. Every snap this fall was a building block for the next three years.
